Theatre--Performance

Renaissance 'Cadienne will present Cajun Wedding on Saturday, February 12th at 7:30 pm at Cite Des Arts.  


The first part of the show will be a presentation of song and dance dating from the mid-1800s to the turn of the century. Then you are all invited to a Cajun wedding in the year 1900, complete with songs, dances, customs, and period costumes.

Renaissance 'Cadienne is a Cajun folkloric troupe, dedicated to preserving and presenting the songs and dances of our ancestors. The troupe had a very successful tour of France this past summer. Renaissance 'Cadienne has performed numerous times in France, Belgium, Canada, at various festivals in the US, as well as locally in Louisiana.

Renaissance 'Cadienne was presented the Prize for Authenticity by the Sacres du Folklore in Rheims, France and has received Vermilionville's Cultural Heritage Preservation Award.
