Theatre--Auditions (Musical Theatre)

Auditions for the upcoming Abbey Players’ production of the 2005 Tony Award winning The 25^th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will happen Saturday, July 16^th at 2PM and again on Monday, July 18^th at 6PM at the Abbey Players’ Theatre located at 200 South State Street in Abbeville.  This audience-participation show is most simply, a spelling bee. All the "kids" are played by adults. This show is very comedic, and with audience members onstage, improvisation is a necessary task for Panch and Peretti, but useful to all cast members.  The music has pop influences, and the female characters should have a strong belt/mix voice. Minimal dance.  Please come to the audition with 16 bars from a Broadway musical number, but be prepared to sing the entire number.
