      Theatre Classes for ages 4 through high school
      Broadway Song and dance classes for ages 4 through high school

Theatre--Performance (Musical Theatre)

The Firelight Performing Arts' spring production is The Wizard of Oz. Wizard will open May 6 and run for 3 weekends. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7p.m and Saturday and Sunday at 3p.m. The show features a cast of 40 ranging in age from 5 to 18. Tickets can be purchased by calling 857-6991 or 962-0306.

Theatre--Auditions (Musical Theatre)

Firelight Performing Arts announces auditions for their fall production, Cowgirls, directed by Ray Blum with Laura Blum serving as musical director. The play will have a two weekend run from October 15th through the 24th. The musical comedy calls for six female performers who can sing - three of whom are proficient in country music and the remainder who can sing in the “classical” style. All singers must be 18 years old and must be able to harmonize. Those who audition for these roles must be prepared to sing either country or “classical” music a la Vivaldi or Anonymous 4. Be prepared to sing a one minute example of either style, using either an instrumental CD or with a piano accompanist (bring your sheet music or CD). There is also a need for a banjo player, a guitarist, a pianist, and a violinist/fiddler, all of whom can be either male or female. Instrumentalists, please contact Laura Blum at 962-0306 for further information.  Auditions, which will be held at 501 Church Street in Youngsville, will be held on Sunday, August 29th from 3 to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday, August 30th from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m

Theatre--Performance (Musical Theatre)

Firelight Theatre presents an encore production of Lionel Bart's musical Oliver! at the Ducahmp Opera House,200 S. Main St. in St. Martinville.  The show opens this Friday, July 9 at 7:30 PM and runs on Fridays andSaturday at 7:30 and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM.  The show will run from July 9-July 25.  Tickets can be ordered through Shamrock Office Supply at 394-5574 or the Duchamp Opera House at 394-6604.  Tickets can also be purchased at the door.  Tickets will only be reserved if they are paid for at the time the reservation is made.

The show is directed by Laura Blum and is an adaptation of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.  It has a fast-moving plot and great music.

Theatre--Performance (Musical Theatre)

Firelight Performing Arts of Louisiana’s spring musical theatre offering, Oliver, will open on April 30th for a three-weekend run, closing on May 16th. The play, set in Victorian England, showcases the acting, singing, and dancing talents of 30 children, 10 adults, and one dog.
        





Oliver, based on the Charles Dickens novelOliver Twist, and directed by Laura Blum, will have performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 pm. with Saturday and Sunday matinees beginning at 2:00 pm. Tickets, which cost $15 for adults and $10 for students, are available at the door or via the internet at www.firelightenterprises.com. Reservations, which are highly recommended, can be made at 857-6991. The
theatre is located at 501 Church Street in Youngsville, across the street from Youngsville Middle School.
