The cast for the UL-Lafayette Opera Theatre's production of Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know has been announced. The cast is:

The show, based on Wendy Perrin's travel book of the same name, is a musical revue style show with songs and sketches and takes a look at different comic situations dealing with travel.
Performance dates are October 9th, 10th, and 11th at 7:30pm and October 11th and 12th at 3PM. The show will be performed at Fletcher Hall, the Art and Architecture building on the UL-Lafayette campus. Tickets are available at the door only--$10 for the general public and free for UL-Lafayette faculty, staff and students.

Theatre--Audition
Shawn Roy from the University of Louisiana--Lafayette will be conducting auditions for his fall show, Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know, on August 29th from 4-9 pm in the auditorium of Angelle Hall (please come in through the back stagedoor). It is a comic musical revue which gives us a glimpse at the topsy-turvy world of travel. There are parts for men and women. Age does not matter. There is some adult subject matter, so it is not recommended that anyone under the age of 16 audition.
Please bring a musical theatre song, uptempo and comic preferred. No monologue needed. The show runs from October 9 - 12 in Fletcher Hall on the UL-Lafayette campus. For more information, call Shawn Roy at 482-5939.

Opera--Performance
Carmen, an opera by Georges Bizet will be performed in French with supertitles on May 1 and 3, 2008 at 7:30PM in the Ducrest-Gilfry Auditorium in Angelle Hall on the campus of UL Lafayette. This is a joint production between the Acadiana Symphony and the UL Lafayette College of the Arts. It tells the story of the ill-fated gypsy girl, Carmen, who through manipulation and sexuality, manages to get herself murdered by a extremely jealous lover. The cast will be made up of professional singers in the leading roles and UL Lafayette students in the secondary parts. The role of Carmen will portrayed by Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Edyta Kulczak of Poland. Tickets are available at the offices of the Acadiana Symphony.
