Firelight Performing Arts Academy will host its first Improv Workshop on September 12th-13th, 2009. The guest teachers for the workshop are Elaine Kibodeaux and Ryan Broussard. Both have extensive training and experience in the art of improvisation. Participants in the workshop will learn:
--the basic fundamentals of improv
--character and theme building
--creating a world without props through games and exercises
--pantomime techniques.
The September 12th workshop is intended for 9th grade and higher students. It begins at 10 am and will run until 5 pm. The cost is $35.00. The September 13th workshop is intended for children beginning at 9 years old until the 8th grade. It will run from 1 pm to 5 pm and will cost $25.00. There will be a 7 pm performance at the end of each workshop. Tickets for the performance are $10.00 each.
