Theatre--Performance

Beyond Therapy, a student production at UL-Lafayette, is being sponsored by Alpha Psi Omega (the UL Theatre Honor Society).  It is a wildly absurd comedy about the quest for love in a dysfunctional world. It's about Bruce and Prudence who meet through a personal ad. Bruce is overly emotional and cries at the drop of the hat, Prudence wants a man who doesn't cry 'unless something falls on him'. Bruce is also bisexual. He has a male lover, Bob, and he wants Bob and Prudence to just get past their hostility and get along. Bruce and Prudence each go to therapy. Her therapist is a male chauvinist bully (and premature ejaculator) who she slept with after her second session. His therapist is eccentric and represses nothing! She has a Snoopy doll which she uses to 'bark' for encouragement.

The show opens October 15th at 7:30 pm and runs through the 17th in Fletcher Auditorium.    It is intended for adult audiences due to graphic language.
