Theatre--Performance (Musical Theatre)

In a far-off kingdom, four fairy tales had no knowledge of the othersexistence.  Into the Woods, the musical by Stephen Sondheim, is a retelling of the world's most recognizable fairy tales, where characters meet and find out what REALLY happens when their wishes come true and what lurks on the other side of "Happily Ever After".

Welcome to the Opelousas Little Theatre and this summer's production of Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim.  Join us in the dark and wooded realm to follow the stories of Little Red Ridinghood, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk)as they meet and quest into the woods in search of their hearts deepest wishes.  Little do they know, their haphazard adventures are all a part of one witch's magical influential scheme.  Set to the music and lyrics of Stephen Sondheim, James Lapine's cleverly woven story is sure to have you humming and laughing all the way home.

Performances will be held in downtown Opelousas at the newly renovated Delta Grand across from the Court House Square.
