Theatre--Classes

The Firelight Performing Arts Academy is now registering for 2009-2010 classes. The following classes are offered:
--The T'Lights Class (ages 4-8) does not require an audition and will meet on Tuesdays from 5-5:45 pm. The class performs twice a year, once in November and once in May. The students will have the option of trying out for the spring musical.
--The Firelights Performing Arts Academy Junior Company (ages 8 and up) does not require an audition and is for those students who want to begin to learn stagecraft as well as performance. Members of the Junior Company will develop the skills necessary to become a part of the Firelight Children's Theatre Company. The Beginner class will meet on Mondays from 5-5:45 pm, and the Junior Company will meet from 6-7:15 pm. The class performs twice a year, once in November and once in May. The students will have the option of trying out for the spring musical.
--The Firelight Children's Theatre Company requires both expereince in acting and an audition (the required pieces include a prepared and memorized monologue of at least one minute in length as well as a song from an established play or movie, again from memory). Performers in this group will be treated as professionals and expected to present themselves as such at all times. As members of the Firelight Children’s Theatre Company (FCTC), the actors will learn to perform on stage as well as behind the scenes. They will also learn the art of technical theatre. The class will meet on Tuesdays from 6-8 pm and will perform twice, once in November and once in May.
