Theatre--Performance

Acting Up (in Acadiana), the professional, multi-disciplined performing arts company in residence at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, presents The Doggie Monologues III, the 2010 Student Showcase, and an original play written by Lian Cheramie, George Saucier, Harmony Decker and Acting Up (in Acadiana) students. Performances will take place Friday, January 22nd at 7:30 pm and Saturday, January 23rd at 2 pm and 7:30 pm. The Doggie Monologues III personifies the stories of animals who live or who have lived at Lafayette Animal Aid, a no kill shelter. Both humorous and touching, the production aims to educate the public about the mission of LAA and to teach the young actors how they can make a difference through their art. Directed by Amy Waguespack, with assistants George Saucier, Kara Guarisco, and Megan LeBleu, The Doggie Monologues III features performances by over 40 actors ages 7-16.

Wish List and monetary donations will be accepted for LAA. Included in the wish list are:
FOR THE DOGS: Purina Dog and Puppy Chow, Milkbones, Durable dog toys, Pet taxis, all sizes, Igloo dog houses, Leashes, Collars (preferred are Martingale collars), Grooming brushes, Flea and Heartworm preventative, for all weights, Puppy milk, Kuranda dog beds (visit the LAA website for details)
 FOR THE CATS: Purina Cat and Kitten Chow, Cat Toys, Tidy Cat cat litter, Flea preventative , Small and medium pet taxis, Nutri-Cal, Heating Pads, Kitten milk, Giant litter pans
For the LAA Volunteers: Postage stamps, Towels, blankets and sheets (used is fine, but no polyfill, please), Paper towels, Toilet paper, Garbage liners (heavy duty), Dishwashing liquid, Scrubbing brushes, Bleach, Rubber and disposable gloves, Flea spray (indoor/outdoor), Brooms and dustpans, Sponge and spring mops, Dish scrubbers, General office supplies (paper, staples,etc).

All performances will take place at Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion, Lafayette. All tickets are $10 at the door. Tickets purchased the week before the show at the AcA will be $10 for adults and $5 for children high school aged and younger.
