          Murder, revenge and suspense in the mists of Wales will keep theatergoers on the edge of their seats as the Iberia Performing Arts League (IPAL) presents Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest. Performances will be Thursdays through Sundays June 2 through June 12, 2011, at the Essanee Theater in downtown New Iberia. Evening performances (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) begin at 7:30 with Sunday Matinees at 3:00. Advance tickets in New Iberia are available at Delaune’s Pharmacy, Paul’s Flower Shop, or Accentrics on Main Street.             Dame Agatha Christie, the “Queen of Crime,” penned over sixty-five mystery novels and seventeen plays and remains one of the best-selling authors of all time outsold only by Shakespeare and the Bible. She has never failed to puzzle and dazzle audiences all over the world. The Unexpected Guest is nothing different. Just when it appears the mystery is solved, she pulls one of her famous twists leaving the audience on the edge of its seat and guessing until the end!

            The show is directed by Travis Guillory and features a talented cast featuring leads Rhonda LeBlanc as Laura Warwick and Billy Walker as Michael Starkwedder. Rounding out the cast are Vince Barras as Henry Angell, Cheryl Patin as Miss Bennett, Seth Derouen as Jan Warwick, Judi Gardiner as Mrs. Warwick,  Craig Duhon as Julian Farrar, Barney Fortier as Inspector Thomas, and Donald Voorhies as Sergeant Cadwallader. With Guillory's top-notch set and talented cast, IPAL is ready to provide a night of unforgettable entertainment!
