Theatre--Performance

The Foundry Stage Company opens with their latest production, Eurydice, written by Sara Ruhl on Thursday, July 24th at 7:30 pm. The Foundry is Lafayette’s only theatre company run solely by high school and university students. They produce, design, direct and act in works by
contemporary playwrights. Jarin Schexnider, a founding member of this company, returns to the Lafayette area to direct their latest production. Eurydice stars local Foundry members John Oliver, Sam Oliver and Rebecca Tharp.

Eurydice takes a modern spin on a classic myth of the ill-fated love between Orpheus and his bride Eurydice. This enchanting play does more than comment on the tragedy of love— it shines with it, illuminating the weight of remembering, and even more so of forgetting.
