Theatre--Performance
The Opelousas Little Theatre will stage a production of Wit, the play that won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and received the "Best New Play" award for 1999 from the New York Drama Critics' Circle. American schoolteacher and playwright Margaret Edson's first play, it is based largely on her work experience in a hospital. The HBO movie starred Emma Thompson and won numerous television and film awards. Travis Fontenot directs. The show will run from Thursday, August 7th through Sunday, August 10th and again the following weekend. Thursday through Saturday, the show will open at 7 pm. Sunday matinees will begin at 2 pm at the Opelousas Little theatre at Creswell Lane and Union Street. For more information, call (337) 948-4367.
